New Fire Tower A Location 1 Set In Jackson County
A ninety foot wooden fire tower will be built on Baldwin knobs in the Ewill Heller peach orchard atop the Jackson County forest reserve. Construction starts around August 25 under William Daggy. The tower will overlook Jackson Jennings Brown Bartholomew Washington and Lawrence counties and part of Monroe. A temporary fifty seven foot tower already aids patrols.

Former Indian fighter visits Seymour during Texas trip
Rev. William S. Tomey and Mrs. Tomey of San Antonio visited relatives in Seymour on Friday. Born in Daviess county, Tomey enlisted as an Indian fighter in 1884 and served in Arizona. He later worked as a coach builder, safe and lock expert, and Civil Service employee before retiring June 30. An ordained Methodist minister and Thirty third Degree Mason, he holds several jewels and has filled many Masonic offices. The couple traveled by auto and Tomey still preaches about once weekly.

An outbreak of typhoid fever aboard the British steamer Victoria City prompted health investigators in Baltimore.
