Jackson County Fair to Open with Saddle Horse Shows
Jackson County 1963 fair launches Sunday at 12 15 pm with Saddle Horse Shows. Fourteen afternoon classes and thirteen night classes, queen judging in swimsuits between afternoon and night segments, Morgan horse feature, Morgan Cavalcade Americana, judges from Scottsburg and Indianapolis, extensive prize money and entry fees. Monday is entry day with multiple exhibit deadlines. Bob McKinley’s Rodeo caps off Monday night at 8 15 pm.

Woman Charged For Reckless Driving In Bartholomew County
Loretta J. Harris 19 of Columbus faced a reckless driving charge after allegedly attempting to run down Bartholomew deputy sheriff Harold Lowry while defending a Seymour man. The incident occurred about 1130 p.m. on Road 450E as the deputy warned the man for reckless driving. Harris, angered by the ticket, drove toward parked cars as Lowry and a temporary deputy dove for safety.
