Three Fatal Crashes Kill Seymour Area Residents

A Seymour R3 man Raymond EDeal 29 North Vernon man and a 24 year old Indiana University student died in crashes Friday night and today in this area. Deal died in a single vehicle crash near Dudleytown. Charles Losey 29 North Vernon died in a U S 50 wreck near Butlerville. Jane Orstan Bright 24 Indiana University student died in a three vehicle collision north of Bloomington. The fatalities raise July deaths in the Seymour police district to ten.

The executive vice president of Dunlap and Company of Columbus and his wife Isabel die in a head on crash on Ind 37 south of Huntington. Richard Jones of Lansing Michigan also dies. Their two sons John and Robert are seriously injured as the family travels for a lake vacation.

Soybean Crop Supports Set For County

Jackson County sets price support for 1964 soybeans at 2.24 dollars per bushel for No 2 grade with 13.8 to 14 percent moisture. The county rate matches 1963 levels, via loans and purchases with applications due January 31 1965 and loan maturity July 31 1965.

Peak Tonnage Expected At Morgan Plant

Morgan Packing Company in Ewing eyes a peak production period late next week as corn packing resumes. Jackson County Fair Set to Open with Wide Variety of Exhibits

The 1964 Jackson County Fair opens Sunday August 9 and runs one week. It features agricultural livestock displays for farmers, cooking and sewing exhibits for homemakers, and 4 H and Pet Club showcases for children. Grandstand shows, queen contest, horse and pig events, archery, dog and rooster contests, and a vibrant midway promise wide entertainment alongside industrial exhibits. Exhibitors are urged to prepare as premiums are modest but ribbons bring pride and county unity.
