The 275 by 120 foot building between Ewing and Broadway will include air conditioned offices, a 55,000 square foot storage area, and cold storage in the basement. Local labor will be used, with significant employment over the coming months, as the project aims to stimulate the building trades.

Three In Court Following Fight In Seymour

Fatal Scarding At Indiana Mental Hospital Sparks Charges
Indianapolis Aug 1 Marion Jones 56 a Negro inmate died from scarding at the State Central Hospital for the insane. An attendant Roy Sherman was absent without leave when Jones was fatally burned Saturday night. Superintendent Dr Max A Bahr filed involuntary manslaughter and criminal negligence charges against Sherman.

W. B. Marling forty six, Civilian Conservation Camp enrollee at Nashville, died at 1 30 Saturday morning at Ft Harris on Indianapolis after a 40 day illness from a tumor of the lung. Funeral at 2 pm Voss Mortuary with Rev S J Cross in charge. Burial Riverview Cemetery. Survived by widow Alma Stoltz, four brothers N H Marling and Fred E Marling of Indianapolis Z Marling of Anderson George L Marling of Hayden and two sisters Maude Tygrett of Indianapolis Ade Myers of Seymour. He was born April 2 1892 in Jennings county. He married in 1922 at Indianapolis. He was a sheet metal worker and World War veteran and a member of Modern Woodmen of America.

Border Veterans Attend Reunion in Indiana

Funeral Rites Held for Alex Taylor at Maumee Baptist Church
Funeral services were conducted at Maumee Baptist Church for Alex Taylor age forty six who died Saturday morning at his farm northwest of Maumee. Injured Youth Improves After Fair Ride Crash
Gerald Smith nineteen son of Mr and Mrs Frank Smith was slightly improved after a North Vernon fair ride crash last Wednesday. He had a punctured lung and severe injuries. Enola Abell sixteen of North Broadway remains confined at home with injuries. Fern Wainscott of Lovett who worked in the city was fatally injured in the crash.
