Jackson County Fish and Game Club of Seymour announced prizes for the season recognizing the largest catches by club members. Contest runs April 10 to December with extra awards possible from local dealers. Displayed at Carter Book Store on Hast Second Street.
Twenty eight bankers attended the quarterly meeting of the Jackson County Bankers Association in Medora. A 7 o'clock dinner was served by Medora women before a business session at the Medora State Bank. President H. McCaun presided as topics of banking interest were discussed and a social hour followed.
The Shields baseball nine defeated Cortland 20 to 4 at Seymour Athletic Park on Wednesday. Lockmund and Huber pitched for Shields, Leckmund and Glass led hits for Shields, while Laraway started for Cortland before Hess closed the game. Shields planned to travel to Bloomington Friday but the game was canceled. Henderson awaits a Brownstown clash next Wednesday.
The coroner's verdict reports Miss Madge Oberholtzer died of mercurial poison self administered. The finding supports the indictment of D. C. Stephenson, former Ku Klux Klan leader, on first degree murder charges. Pathologists and inquest witnesses contributed to the brief ruling.

East end engineers are Dan Cadden and August Mix with firemen FE Reese and L C Barnett on the east end.
Colored singers perform at the old Trinity Methodist church on Bruce and Poplar to support the Colored Methodist church. The event is Thursday April 23 at 8 pm.
A food sale hosted by Sadie's Aid of First Methodist Church is set for Saturday April 25 at 10 a m in the B T room. Proceeds benefit church programs and community assistance.
Public meeting Friday features HL W Tooley manager of Tooley Dramatic Production Company Sullivan Indiana who stars as Faust in the Tooley Opera Company. He will sing opera numbers and discuss dramatic art and opera for school children and the public at Shields High School auditorium at 10 30 a m.
Funeral services were held for Irwin McKain seven at Brownstown Baptist church with Rev T J Anthony officiating. The Brownstown boy died Saturday night at Schneck Memorial hospital Seymour after emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix. He is survived by his mother Clara McKain and three sisters living at home.
All participants in the Lutheran Club minstrel are asked to be present tonight at seven thirty promptly. Dit committee directs attendance.
Kessler's Store announces a candy sale set for Saturday April 25 at 10 am at the Presbyterian church premises. Proceeds support the Christian Endeavor group with location at 0241.

Senator Burton K. Wheeler of Montana resumed cross examination in federal court here for alleged misuse of office. United States Attorney Join Slattery planned to question Wheeler about a proposal to split fees during today’s session.
A massive blaze on the Chicago riverfront destroyed two large Rosenbaum Grain Corporation elevators on the South Side. The fire burned overnight, started fifteen smaller fires, caused about 5 million dollars in damage, shut down rail and trolley traffic, and drew fifty thousand spectators as embers drifted blocks away. Firefighters contained the flames after hours, preventing a wider disaster.
