Fred Ross of Jonesville a longtime missing veteran believed mentally troubled after World War War shell shock has been found in the Pendleton state reformatory serving a sentence for escaping the Putnamville penal farm. Ross 25 enlisted in Company H at Columbus aged 16 and has wandered the country since 1922 when Marion county sentenced him for unlawful possession and he was released.

Woman Dies After Fright From Storm in Restaurant
Mrs. Laura M. Weil aged sixty six died suddenly Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock in the Phillips restaurant on Indianapolis avenue from a heart attack triggered by fear during a thunder storm. She had moved from 106 St. Louis avenue after her husband’s death four years ago. Funeral services by Rev. C. G. Milamore at 2 p.m. Thursday at 312 West Fifth Street. Burial in Riverview cemetery.

William L Taylor a Crothersville native tied to a five year old conspiracy auto theft case was brought to Bedford where Judge James A Cox sentenced him to two to fourteen years along with his sons who received suspended terms. He later escaped and was recaptured in Indianapolis facing new charges. He will be sent to Michigan City to finish the Bedford term unless legal action pauses the plan.

Judge Roberts at Madison sustained a new trial motion but then accepted a settlement reached outside court. Mrs Rose Schmitt of New Albany sued George W Breitfield over a two year old car collision south of the city. Indianapolis April 22 The State Supreme Court denied the appeal of James M. Sims for rehearing and upheld the Bartholomew circuit court verdict finding him guilty of embezzlement and conspiracy to embezzle funds of the Hope State Bank. Sims was tied to R. K. Ferry who confessed and is serving a penitentiary term after Ferry testified in the Sims trial.
