Two men arrested in North Vernon on Friday afternoon were investigated in connection with a Portland Louisville bank holdup at 10 30 that morning in which four bandits wounded the cashier Fred L Klingman fired at the president and escaped with 34000 in cash. They were released after Louisville detectives examined them. The Buick touring car description matched the bandits. The men were photo graph salesmen from Muncie and denied involvement. A newspaper rep vouched for one man’s character. Detectives Scheffer and T. L. B. reported the Buick matched the bandits’ vehicle.
