Grim skeleton found in Kahiltna River flood sands
A man’s skeleton was found by three deaf mutes Jake Gaber Albert Hale and Alfred Waugh while boating about a mile above Kahiltna. The remains show two upper front teeth missing several lower jaw teeth gone and a leather belt and woolen undergarments. The body burial box were placed near the river mouth. The report notes two drownings nearby in 1905 and 1806.
