A huge norwester storm with subzero temperatures swept the area the night they departed, and the wreck is presumed carried far out to sea. Lighthouse tender Armeria sails in from Sitka to supply lighthouses
The lighthouse tender Armeria, Capt. Gregory, arrived this morning from Astoria and Juneau by way Puget Sound, carrying supplies to lighthouses. She will head to St. Michael next, with the only lighthouse between Seward and that port at Scotch Gap Unmak pass. The Armeria is a new, handsome craft able to reach fourteen knots, and Capt. Werlich of the Thirteenth lighthouse district is aboard.

Wharf seeks steamship haulage for Port Graham coal
William G. Wharf of Seldovia, owner of the Port Graham coal mine, travels via Seward to Seattle to persuade steamship lines to carry coal to Seward.
