Steamer Toledo Reaches Port With Coal Load
Steamer Toledo arrived in port Wednesday afternoon with 165 tons of coal from the Port Graham mine near Seldovia for Kenai Lumber and Fuel Co. Capt. Blodgett commands this voyage while Capt. Shaw joins Ty On ic. Toledo will sail after minor engine repairs tomorrow. The Port Graham mine, under I. A. Herbert of Seldovia, employs about twenty men and expects full summer output. Mules Released From Tunnel Stable After Boring Work
Mules that helped bore tunnel 3 on mile 53 of the railroad were freed from their underground stable after completion. They had drawn cars during construction and a short period afterward when they could not be removed. Two will be used in tunnel 7 as the path to the tunnel was cleared.
