Last Saturday 436 voters weighed Proposition 1 a school improvement bond with 229 in favor and 207 against. Proposition 2 for parking lot payment drew 433 ballots with 227 for and 206 against.
Three candidates filed for the three available school board places by Tuesday evening. Lloyd Coffman seeks re election, joined by R L Davis known as Bob Davis of Auto Parts and Dr E M Wright from local optometrist practice Tri St.
Incumbents Raymon Patton Karl Don Hughes and Ed Pullam filed for city council seats. Candidates must file 30 days before the April 5 1969 election for both city and school board seats.

A theft wave last Saturday from noon to 2 PM involved a man and a woman who hit several merchants, with refunds claimed for several dresses and cash losses totaling at least 150 to 200 dollars in Seminole. Police notes also log separate incidents of hay theft hog theft and vandalism in nearby areas with injured parties and police reports.
In Seminole, a Hackberry Grove draws attention with a near three foot diameter tree among seventeen in the draw south of Seminole and west of the highway. The five original plantings mark the site near a visible well right of the fourth tree where early settlers held picnics and horse races.
