F L Loveland received notices of a death at 614 age and infirmities at the home in East Waterloo township. Mrs George Shirley is reported dead. Also noted is the marriage of Miss Mae Shifertaker and Herman Springs at the bride's parents' home.
A passing roundup of Waterloo area notes. Local residents and visitors include A. B. Imvejoy in South Dakota on business, Mrs. Oder with throat ailment, and Mrs. Peter Talty home ill at 438 Cottage. Several others return from trips, attend church events, or plan visits to Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The Highland Nobles meet at A. O. U. W. hall. Ada Guermsey heads east for a tour. plus updates on local business, schooling, and social visits.
Miss Jessamyne Pelton and Mr. William Gibbs married at the bride’s Cedar Rapids residence yesterday noon with Rev. H. B. McGrath officiating. Guests shared a noon ceremony then a feast. couple to reside in Waterloo after October 1 where the groom works in the broom business.
In a recent meeting, the organization clears a $323 incumbrance and settles all outstanding bills. New officers were elected amid remarks on ongoing reform efforts and the leadership committee appears ready to advance its agenda.
