Washington announces Director Leach will buy about 125000 ounces of fine silver weekly for subsidiary coinage as long as demand holds. Minting stock stands at about 21 million dollars in subsidiary coin with prior swings in demand and a fall in silver supply. Demand expected to tighten when cotton crop moves, prompting renewed purchases.

At the Republican convention Mere yesterday Albrook of Midora Hardin county was nominated to succeed Judge Evans. There were two other candidates in the Held C F Peterson of Clarion Wright county and A N Roeye of Webster Twelve ballots gave Albrook 35 Roeye 3016 and Peterson 204%. Story county changed its rate to Albrook and his domination was made unanimous.

A 22 caliber rifle fired by an 11 year old hit John Swolatzka on the hand near Virden Creek while hunting sparrows and pursuing a mudhen.
