Devastated District Hit by Storm Leaves One Dead
In a devastated district a single death and about a dozen injuries were reported as winds hurled debris, blew people against trees, and crushed them between partitions. A stock car was carried through the air and set down without harm. pictures captured scenes as houses sustained severe damage. Shoes were blown off horses and scantlings driven through buildings.
