The case of W White vs Ida Gaffin was heard and the board ruled in favor of the teacher. Emil Horsberg received permission to send his children to school No 1 in Perry township Hochannon county.
Revs Miller of Cedar visited Saturday with the O B Gain family. W J Gibson sold 62 Plymouth Rock chickens to Standish of Jesup, averaging 7 pounds at 8 cents per pound, or 872 for the lot. Also sold 19 hogs averaging 360 each at 5.08 or 845.42. Ed Hess sold hogs to O J Kirby. John Uglet from Superior Wisconsin reports 1600 shipyard workers and 150 big boats to be repaired. He earns 1.80 per day and mentions the boat England rebuilt at 55000. Robert Gibson learning corn raising in Ames. Young lady of Minious visiting Mrs Schmitt. Ida Gallin recalls Janu 20. Ed Alexander had a 12.15 bill before the board for work since November.
Cedar Falls lists a new baby for Mr. and Mrs. 4 L Bailey, club meetings, social visits, deaths in Omaha, and society gatherings. Extra teaching staff added at the high school, with Frank Hamilton hired for daily algebra and arithmetic instruction. Cedar Falls residents Fabrick and Reinbeck bankers discuss a potential local bank. Parlor Reading Circle to meet January 29 with O H Leonard and Rev George H Birney present. Milton Quapper returns from Chicago to join relatives and Harvesters plans. Reverend J Homer Deis to wed January 24 at the local Episcopal church.

It cites Mrs. Pitcher of Newark New Jersey who allegedly recovered after three weeks of use and credits her husband a veteran of GE D Morgan Post No 207 for supporting her improvement. The copy claims the pills remove rheumatic poison from blood and restore health in multiple conditions.
Large Waterloo crowd witnessed a basketball game in the normal gymnasium. State Normal College defeated Leander Clark University 28 to 22. Clarence Steele returns to Hancock Michigan as secretary of the MOA. A Danish Bethlehem church wedding is planned for Miss Mary Nisseon and Mr Louis Markus sen at 5 PM. The couple will reside at 727 Bluff Street. The groom works at Illinois Central Cedar Falls and they will farm Berkley Farm. Wedding ends a romance from Met Morris Illinois. Live Stock Markets: hogs, cattle and sheep receipts and prices listed for Chicago. Cattle market opened steady, finished slow and weak. sheep down 10c.

Miss Jennie Berkley and Clyde Bechtelheimer wed at the J I Berkley home in Orange township with Rev W H Lichty officiating. About eighty relatives and friends attended as guests were received at the door before the ceremony. The couple, united in marriage by church custom, received well wishes and gifts then planned a brief visit with the groom’s parents before returning to Orange township.

Peter Clemens, father of Henry Clemens, was thrown from the Mequlec Central track at Dyersville on Friday evening. He died Tuesday morning from injuries and shock. The elderly man was in poor health prior to the incident. M S Allen of Laporte was a business caller in the city.
