Taft visits Heech Island near Augusta as guests of the Feech Island Farmer's ely. Jury called for Wednesday as no cases to hear. jurors for January term to be drawn. Notices include barber shops changing opening times and a local Y M C A home made sauerkraut promotion at Ellis Grocery.
A parish telegraph reports Father Cooney and Father Forkenbrock urging aid for Italian earthquake victims in Messina Catania and Reggio. A letter from Apostolic Delegate Falconio reads in Dubuque archdiocese urging a Sunday collection through the Vatican channel with offerings sent to the Holy Father or Cardinal Merry del Val. The call echoes Christain charity and aims to hasten relief to stricken municipalities and families.
Elizabeth Hollman of Grand Rapids sues middleweight champion Stanley Ketchel for 10000 claiming a promise of marriage and later broken engagement after alleged intimate relations. Ketchel was arrested on the suit’s filing, bailed, and released. Ketchel denies knowing Hollman or any engagement.

Manchester January 11 Special: While painting in her kitchen Mrs John Sullivan wife of the late Illinois Central roadmaster was badly burned on the upper body when turpentine in paint ignited after she tripped over a rug and fell onto a stove. She wrapped a blanket about her and fainted, later regaining consciousness with a neighbor's aid.

Mrs. Claus Smith and children of Buffalo Center return home to “The Honeymooners.” The Waterloo tong.
