A local attorney found a second-hand marriage license at the Clerk of Courts office of Irving Smith. The license, issued weeks earlier, was allegedly offered for sale at about half price to a prospective groom. The parties named are Charles Dale of Shell Beck and Nellie Vera of this city, formerly of Waverly Junction.
