It contrasts the governor with Cummins, notes testimony before the Senate committee, and argues for remedial action over political posturing while affirming two Iowa senators’ contributions to rail reform.

Horses Sent by Express to New London Meeting
Three weeks ago Evangelist Curtie C. T Dillavee of New London began a series of meetings at the M E church. South English residents saw little of the coming impact, but by week’s end dozens had joined. The second draft shipment from Smedley & Co will leave New Haven Tuesday, with 29 head of heavy draft horses destined for the eastern market. The Smedley company uses over 200 head in own work and runs a large allied business. The horses range 1,600 to 1,700 pounds and were bought in the southern region, illustrating Iowa’s preference for heavy drafts.
