Waterloo Poultry Show Dates Set and Judge Reappointed

Members of the Waterloo and Cedar Falls Poultry Association met Monday evening in the Hoffa office to set show dates and choose a judge. The show will be December 14, with Dr. B. Shaner, who judged last month’s event, again selected as judge. Dr. Powers retired from the Iowa State Board of Health after seven years of service and as president, receiving a testimonial praising his work and wishing him well. The new board member is Dr. DeDey of Cranee City, leaving the district without representation for a year.

Two youths fight over a pistol on a street

In February in Danks and Topp, aged 17 and 19, argued over a watch and pistol after watching a moving picture. A bystander intervened as one man turned the gun on himself. Both men pleaded guilty to intoxication and received thirty days in county jail in Judge Porter’s court.

Blizzard Claims Three Men in Menominee County

A harsh blizzard in Menominee Michigan on February 11 killed three men. Henry Lartose was found buried sixteen miles northeast of Cedar River after losing his way toward a lumber camp. Quasqueton Votes For Water Plant And Light Elevation
