Chicago and North Western Railway officials at Eagle Grove operate a special train from Eagle Grove to Toledo for GE patrons. The event highlights company relations and rail service links between the towns served by the railway.
A large Eldora delegation with Eagle Grove Webster City and Iowa Falls traveled by rail to Alden Iowa Falls and Toledo to inspect major industries. The train formed 175 strong including officers of the C N W R R and business leaders. After tours in Toledo and local sights the group returned to Eldora for dinner at the Winchester hotel and later rides to the Industrial School.
The Churches announce morning worship at usual hours with no evening service in Congregational and Christian churches. A temperance meeting at 7 30 pm at the M E church will feature pastors Stanley and Warner from the Des Moines convention. Point Pleasant Charon reports Rev. Stanley preaching Sunday afternoon at three. Additional Baptist and Methodist services are noted with standard morning worships and engagements. Coughs and colds are advised to be cured by a local remedy advert.
Hardin County Board met in sessions with Wheeler Lumber Co and Art Metal Construction Co, approving a $15,000 bank depository bond, authorizing vault fixtures from Art Metal for $550, and listing 1905 telephony mileage and values for several lines. Other actions included warrants, tax correction, and road work referrals.
The Tribune and Herald publish a limited time joint offer: one year of both papers for 300 dollars, compared with regular annual prices of 4.00 and 1,504 dollars.
