Death of JL H Lockwood Near Union at 82

JL H Lockwood died at his home near Union on Monday night after about a week of illness. He was 82, born in Franklin County Ohio in 1821. He married in 1850. his wife died about eighteen years ago. Survived by six children: Jo Lockwood, Mrs RR Sheets of Union, Mrs J H Benson of Marshinll town, Mrs S J Spurn of Whitten, M Lockwood of Union, Mrs J I Galloway of Hastings Neb. Funeral held at Congregational church in Union Thursday, conducted by Rev P Clyde formerly at Muscatine.

Margaret Bowes grew up in Eldora and studied osteopathy in Kirksville. She married Gravett, practiced in Troy Ohio, and had a son. Both mother and child died from diphtheria after a ten day quarantine, shocking their grandparents Jonathan Holgington and wife who mourn the loss.
