Evangelist Lyon moved big crowds in Eldora with fervent sermons and a powerful appeal to the unsaved. He spoke of sin and judgment, urging men to conversion, leading to about twenty five conversions amid rain and a strong Sunday program across morning and evening services.
Sunday evening at the tabernacle Mr Harris sang The Great Judgment Morning a solo of melody and meaning. The audience was hushed and breathless straining to catch every word. Never before has Eldora seen an audience so still hung on the singer’s words in tribute to the meeting.
Eldora business men agree to shut from 12 to 2 pm Thursday for the afternoon Sabbath service. Churches hold 10:30 am services, tabernacle at 2 pm, with an evening service as usual. Final week of evangelistic meetings led by Mr. Lyon.
Tickets for trips to Chicago and Descriptions of expositions and congresses listed with travel dates November to December. Fare sales begin November 15, 20, 28, 29 and December 1, with return by December 18. Apply to any North Western Line ticket agent, 90-2t.

Mrs W McGregor of Hubbard visited G Vigar’s home, Leone Miller attended a Thursday lecture at Lawn Hills.

Mare High School announces new elective options starting second semester under Superintendent A J Cavana. Teachers attended the State Teachers Association in Des Moines, while students enjoyed break. Prayer meetings for service are popular, and freshman pennant antics spark schoolwide chatter. The school board granted Thanksgiving day off only for the holiday, keeping classes the following Friday.

The Unanswerable Question at 7 30 p m. Cottage Prayer Meetings Thursday 9 30 a m and four church services at 10 30 a m. Afternoon Meeting at 2 00 p m and a Thanksgiving Service at 7 30 p m.

Oklahoma City paper announces the wedding of Misa Leah Carter daughter of Mr and Mrs H F Carter of 821 North Lindsay street to Dr J Ford Johnston of McAlester. The ceremony will be held at the bride’s parents home Saturday Nov 27 with Rev Alfred Lawrence Crawley of Louisville Ky to perform. Attending guests include A W Mitterer Eldora Ta Migs Ina Taylor Chicago Gordon Wood Chattanooga Tenn Mr and Mrs G H Johnston Guthrie and Mr and Mrs H W Grantow Edmund.
Eldora Iowa November 1 1909 the Hardin County Board in adjourned September session ratified and confirmed the commissioners report on benefits for Drainage District No 8 in Clay and Jackson townships after hearing objections. They also addressed road and bridge matters and adjourned to November 2 1909 then selected grand jurors petit jurors and talesmen for 1910. R A Vigars Auditor and Wm Weimer Chairman signed.
The Youths Companion offers 52 weekly issues for 1.75 or a single book for 1.50 to 2.00. The Companion claims superior quality and value with stories articles and sketches by famous writers,-free Venetian Calendar 1910 offered to new subscribers, send 1.75 now to receive remaining 1909 issues and calendar.
Monthly record shows books purchased and donated, worn out and withdrawn, repaired, and new readers registered. It lists a total of 963 books issued, 20 days open for issue, average daily circulation 31, largest day 57, smallest day 10, overdue fines totaling 4.90, non resident cards 1.00, magazine rent amount 7.21, with librarian Elva Greer noting the figures.
Public notice from Eldora Mutual Telephone Co lists payment hours at the Secretary's office as 9 to 12 a.m., 1 to 4 p.m., and evening hours until 8 p.m. The notice appears in a brief telephone notice format for patrons and directors.
