The Prefect of Police and the Blanche Leclaire Case
In Napoleonic Paris the famed Prefect Claude and Mme Rigault plot to rescue Blanche Leclaire from the blackmailer Horace Vere. Vere, an Englishman, is killed in a staged duel style pursuit after cashing out letters exposing Blanche. Claude captures Vere in Marseilles after a dramatic harbor pursuit and returns with the incriminating papers, preserving Blanche’s name and securing justice.
