Hamilton Browne, president of Newton and Northwestern Ry Co, writes Mrs Joseph Boody of Eldora Iowa to deny any company fault in her husband Jos Boody's death. Browne states Boody's dealings were satisfactory and he left with a clean record, expressing regret over his death.
Henry Feske, grandson of residents near the wagon bridge over the Iowa river, was struck in the abdomen when a revolver discharged while he played Sunday evening. Dr Morse treated him but did not locate the ball, hoping infection does not set in. Parents believed safe use but cautioned that firearms are dangerous to children even when unloaded.

Game warden Geo B Lincoln of Cedar Rapids spent part of Wednesday in town. Welch returned to Indianapolis after a week at home. Secretary W S Porter attended the State meeting of Town Electricians since Monday. J I Frey of Clarion visited his old home in Midora and returned Tuesday. Oden Davis of the state university debating team spent Sunday at home. FF St John and family moved from Clarion to the Hobart Follett farm near Kidora. Prof Lyon of Liscomb public school visited W Johnston and wife. Miss Kiva Greer came from Grinnell Friday and stayed until Sunday. M A Crosbie of Ashbury Park, N J, visited the old farm in Jackson township and planned to return to New Jersey in a couple of weeks. Jos Wallace arrived from the north Monday evening for a few days on business. Mrs Wallace plans to remain away from their grand home for several weeks. Simon Swarts of Town Falls aided station agent Frazier of Town Central railroad in settling in, with household goods arriving from Belmond. Mr Swarts is a carpenter. Frank Boody of Town Halls visited Eldora Friday and Saturday owing to the death of his brother Joseph. Frank may soon leave a longtime position as chief clerk in a clothing store.
A sheriff keeps a young Norwegian descent girl in custody as authorities refer her case to the board of control. She arrived from Iowa Falls after likely escaping Cherokee asylum, unable to state her name or speak intelligibly. The sheriff believes she can talk if she chooses, and the board may take charge today.
Two young brothers aged ten and seven from Eldora briefly left home after reading a Trowbridge tale about youth adventures. They soon faced hardship, returned home, and chose to stay under their mother’s care, learning to value home life and the comforts it provides. The brief episode ends with a firm resolve to remain home until prepared to face life’s tougher realities.
Local marriage notice lists Meno Kupper and Clara Speiker of Ackley to wed. Edward Schwartz and Augusta Witthubn are noted in the same notice. The event is registered in Sherman township with Providence and Reece Whitten as witnesses. Additional details include names of attending professionals.
A. J. Meyer of the public schools was a guest in Cedar Walls over Sunday. Rev. J. B. Albrook, financial agent of Cornell College, gave an excellent talk Wednesday morning as a guest of his daughter Luella. Rev. C. Warner led scripture reading and prayer Monday morning and delivered another engaging talk noting the excavation at the Holy Land.
Dr Boody of the Clarinda hospital visited the city for two to three days following his brother Joseph Boody's death. He is regarded as an expert on a disease and formerly served in the Independence institution's medical department before becoming superintendent of the Clarinda hospital. I have notified most customers of past due accounts for 1903 and request settlement by cash or note before March 10.
W. B. Ackles, 69, respected city resident, died Monday at his First Ward home after cancer of the stomach and months of illness. He sought relief by climate and other means with little benefit. confined to bed in recent weeks. Survived by wife and two sons. Funeral Thursday at 2 p.m. at his residence. A consistent Christian and member of the M E Church.

Peter Olson born in Denmark in 1835 died at his Eldora city home Saturday about 1 PM in his 69th year. He moved to the Eldora area about 32 years ago after owning a farm near Eldora now owned by Frank Sheldon, later selling it. Survived by his wife, a Lutheran member by birth, funeral held Monday at 2 PM at the family home conducted by Rev. W.E. Stanley of the Baptist church.
