Alfred Brown a 25 year old laborer who slept in the Guthrie restaurant and boarding house second story window area suffered a severe fall onto the brick pavement below after partially undressing due to heat. He was found head first through mosquito netting and sustained head and shoulder injuries, with other bruises. his condition required rest in his room.
Waterloo July 15 Mrs Ephraim Adams wife of one of Iowa's famed two surviving ministers from the original Iowa band died at her home. She aged 84 born Jan 1 1821 in Hanover New Hampshire. Survived by husband and two sons H G Adams and BE D Adams both college instructors. Her career as a church worker was notable across Iowa with pastorates in Davenport Decorah Grinnell Eldora and leadership in home missions.Only two of the original eleven ministers remain Rev E N Adams and Dr Salter of Burlington.
Iowa Falls man William Burgess Jr. was jailed on a night larceny charge after disappearing from a livery barn with an overcoat. A habeas corpus hearing revealed he was not guilty of the initial indictment. he pled guilty to petit larceny and was released after the September term.
The C N W offers a one fare special train from Eldora leaving at 10 15 a m and returning from Iowa Falls at 10 30 p m to accompany Educational day activities. The Industrial school band will accompany the excursion providing day music and an open air concert at 7 45 p m. The day promises a full program of entertainments and exercises.
Frank J. Cheney in Toledo swears as senior partner that his firm will pay one hundred dollars for every catarrh case cured by Hall's Catarrh Cure. The notice, sworn December 1890, promotes Hall's Catarrh Cure taken internally with claims it affects the blood and mucous membranes. Sold by druggists for 75 cents and accompanied by Hall's Family Pills for constipation.

Des Moines July 16 1905 Special to The Herald announces the Iowa State Fair will host a record cattle show in Des Moines during the last week of August. breeders signal they will bring premier herds to compete in the new Polled Durham class and other breeds with premiums increased to more than 5300 dollars, following last year’s 700 head exhibit and intense rivalry.

Mr and Mrs Ed Ibach mourn the death of their two month old son Eno July 13. Funeral Friday at residence by Rev Davis of Whitten. burial Secor cemetery. Sympathy offered.
