Descriptive Obituary From Eldora for Mrs Jane Brown
Mrs Jane Horsley Brown of Eldora Iowa born Derby England 1845 died January 17 1909 age 63 after long illness. She came with parents to Pittsburg Penn at age nine then moved to Eldora in 1857. Married William C Brown in 1864. eight children surviving with two predeceased. She cared for stepchildren and a neighbor family, joined Church of England, husband died 1903. Funeral drew wide circles of friends and neighbors in sorrow and gratitude for her life.

Two popular high school pupils Ethel G. Fenton and Webb A. Wilson wed at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Fenton five miles west of Eldora. The ceremony featured Lohengrin’s Bridal Chorus and a ring service by Rev. W. E. Stanley. A reception follows at the Wilson farm and a later Eldora celebration is planned. Also wed were Carlton L. Wood and Ada Belle Beecher at the bride’s mother’s home in Eldora in a quiet ceremony. The Herald extends best wishes to both couples.
