Successful Sale At Nutting shed big prices for cattle and stock
J H Kramer’s third market day sale Saturday at the Nutting feed shed drew large entries of cattle hogs horses and machinery. Prices remained strong with horses selling up to 221 and a piece of machinery fetching 17 from an initial 10. Mules brought 308 and 150 in other sales. Cattle and hogs sold well. horses and machinery sold at the feed shed while cattle and hogs moved to I C stock yards. Next sale set for Saturday February 19.

Gifford Girl Despondent. Tries Arsenic Suicide
Sixteen year old Cassie Patterson of Gifford attempted self harm Sunday at Bangor by drinking Fowler's arsenic solution in the home of Dr. Mahlon Russell. Antidotes saved her life after doctors rushed care and she is reported out of danger. Neighbors and employers cite melancholia signs but offer little on causes. she had spoken of death previously and lived with her mother Mrs. Rubottom and brothers Carl and Cal Patterson.

Mrs Joe Hardin Deceased Widow Of Joe Hardin
Lizzie Patterson born January 29 1858 in Wabash Indiana died in Eldora January 29 1910 on her birthday anniversary. She moved to Mitchellville Iowa in 1877 and later graduated from Sterling HI conservatory of music. She became music instructor at Iowa Industrial School and married Joe Hardin November 19 1884. She was an accomplished musician and singer and active in Presbyterian and Congregational churches.

John Perkins Deceased A Derbyshire Native Dies at 82
John Perkins born in Derbyshire England on October 21, 1827 died January 29, 1910 at age 82 years three months and days. He married Harriet Parkin in 1845 and Sarah Platts in 1860s, had children and grandchildren, lived in Eldora since 1885, and endured five years of illness with patience. He leaves seven children, two stepsons, a brother Edwin Perkins, twenty grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

John Sharp Dies in Iowa After 82 Years of Life
John Sharp born January 29 1828 in Lincolnshire England died January 31 1910 in Eldora after a brief illness aged 82 years. He came to America at 25 settling in Rock County Wisconsin later moving to Grundy County Iowa near Conrad in 1870. Survived by wife Lucinda Chamberlain six children Mia Lyons Mrs Lynn Montford George and two children who died in infancy. Funeral planned 3:30 Wednesday at Conrad with subsequent services Thursday in Eldora.
