Mock Wedding at Durward Howell Home Highlights Junior Senior Event
Seniors and juniors of E H S and faculty gathered at Durward Howell's residence for the first Junior and Senior affair of the year. The mock wedding featured participants from both classes with class colors maroon and white for juniors and matte and blue for seniors. A wedding dinner followed the ceremony as guests praised the hosts and anticipated more parties later in the season.

Mrs Utley Dead After Sudden Apoplexy In Alden
Mrs L H Utley of Alden died suddenly Friday morning from apoplexy. She had been prominent in Alden's social and church circles for forty five years. Word of her death was received by Mr Whited, an old family friend, this morning.

Teachers at Alden Meet in Hardin County
The northern section of the Hardin county teachers association met in Alden last Saturday with twenty five teachers attending. Poor roads prevented others from coming. The session featured songs recitations and class work by teachers and Alden pupils. Alden residents showed famed hospitality. The southern section will meet at Union this Saturday.

Mrs W J Stout Buried In Eldora After Chicago Visit
The body of Grace B Walker Stout, born June 7 1880, wife of W J Stout, later buried at Eldora after funeral services in Eldora and a trip from Chicago. She died December 4 at 5 30 pm of valvular heart disease leaving three children and a brother Jonathan Stout. The interment followed services led by Rev W E Stanley at Eldora cemetery.

Race Wins Again In Pro Wrestling Match
George Race defeated Ihnman of Chicago in two straight falls at the Herald office basement. The first fall lasted nine minutes forty seconds, the second nineteen minutes seven seconds. Race weighed 132 pounds to Ihnman’s 147, and training under Linn Ruby is expected to sharpen his skills.

Annual Meeting Hears Reports and Elects Officers
The Congregational church society held its annual meeting on Tuesday evening in the church lecture room and parlors. Pastor William George Ramsay led, with C. McKeen Duren reading last December's minutes. Ellis D. Robb reported stronger finances as the treasurer. Seven church societies were represented, the only church in the state with all seven societies. Elections selected Duren and Ward as deacons, Moffett as trustee, Martin and Mrs. Snyder as trustees, Duren as clerk, Robb as treasurer, and Aymer D. Davis as Sunday School Superintendent. A lunch followed in the dining rooms.
