Jos Hoover, respected local veteran, suffered a paralytic stroke at his home Wednesday evening and has been in critical condition since. He had recently traveled to Minnesota and South Dakota to visit sons and returned just days before the illness. At age around sixty, the physician holds little hope for recovery, noting the stroke affected the opposite side of the heart though some minor favor remains.
Primghar reports attorney A G Whitney of Sioux City has filed suit against the county board of supervisors for 1500 claiming his bill for prosecuting the Ed Q Brown banking case. Brown stood trial in district court on fraudulent banking charges but was cleared by a grand jury verdict. Whitney initially billed 1000, offered compromises declined, now seeks damages of 1600 for services and expenses. Whitney is noted as well known in Eldora with local relatives.

The Hardin county medical society met at Hotel Winchester with officers named Morse and Harold and papers by Behring, Whitney, and Harold. Ryan and Keller sold furniture stock to A Readout of Stuart, who will invoice next week and move here. Keller may relocate to Stuart. Pine syrup markets urge use of Dr Wood's remedy for coughs and colds.

My John Isebrands enjoys a visit from a brother from Sibley. Mrs Dennis of Robertson visited friend Mrs Laline. Mr and Mrs A Jaspers left Wednesday for Lenox relatives. Mrs Messinger came from Dysart to assist father Mr Trep. Trep is seriously ill.
