The ceremony featured a decorated setting with ferns emilax and white carnations and Leona Allison singing. Best man was Logan Smith of Union, bridesmaid Leona Allison wore light blue silk, and nearly forty relatives attended from near Eldora with several out of town guests. The couple planned a short wedding trip and will reside with Geo. Vigre near Gifford.

New firm in town buys Larkey Co. stock
A. P. Wilson and E. E. Newell have become owners of the Larkey Co. stock, traded to Osgood of Estherville for a half section of land. Invoicing places the stock value at $18,000 and plans for disposal will be announced soon. Cal Linsay, former Clemons store manager, now runs operations to prepare a public opening with expected great bargains as stock is placed on the market.

Former E H S students gift Alderney painting display
A framed steel engraving of Alderney, by Edwin Douglas, was donated to E H S by former student George Readout. Superintendent Navana and Principal Miss Allison spoke as Readout described the work, its Jersey cattle and German maiden elements, and the school awaits memorials from classes of 1908 and 1909.

Irvin L Devendorf of Eldora wed Miss Ildra Engle of State Center in a home ceremony at the Engle residence. The event featured a Rose Maiden chorus, Lohengrin wedding march, and a floral parlor setting. Two Good Wrestlers Fight Draw In Long Bout
George Race and Edward Sullivan staged a one hour and twenty minute bout at the Herald office basement with Lin Ruby as referee. The match was best two of three, both fighters remaining unthrown for the majority of the time. After a mid bout intermission two youths staged a shoe wrestle, Carleton Bonner winning a five minute fall. The final result was a draw in the first round, with Sullivan carrying a nine pound advantage at 147 to Race’s 138.

Bazaar a Success at Congregational Church Dinner
The Congregational church ladies held a bazaar and turkey dinner last Wednesday, clearing about 126. This first single day event earned less than the prior two day dinners which brought 140 and 160. The dinner was excellent and many pretty items were on sale at the bazaar.

Bad Roads Hit Eldora Pipe Plant Revenue
The poor country and city roads hinder Eldora travel and stop work at the north pipe factory. The plant uses vast clay supplies hauled from the east, delaying production a month earlier than usual. The payroll for pipe and tile work is about $30,000 yearly, impacting the town financially for one month. Reaver is upgrading the plant with a fifteen ton dry pan costing $1500, aiming to increase value and meet demand for Eldora pipe and tile.
