Eldora sewer plant drives town’s growth and jobs
Eldora's Sewer Pipe and Tile Works, a decade under manager C A Reaver, employs about forty now and supports the community with a $30,000 annual payroll. The plant, using Hardin county clay, operates six kilns, large equipment, and a brick stack, shipping 600 cars of tile yearly to states nationwide. Fire at Chicago Northwestern depot damages building
Friday forenoon the depot roof filled with smoke from beneath the shingles. Flames likely started from a locomotive spark and spread through the roof sheeting.
