Injured in Fall From Barn At Home
Clo Angel Greer 13 daughter of Mr and Mrs R E Greer of Washington and Clay was injured about 510 pm Thursday when she fell from a loft in a barn at their home. She fractured her right arm just below the shoulder and was taken to Bothwell hospital by the McLaughlin ambulance. She rested well Thursday night.

Miner Killed by Falling Rock Slab in Oklahoma Mine
Charles Henry Robinson age 23 of Hallowell Kas died when a rock slab 20 by 8 feet fell at the Grace Walker mine near Picher Oklahoma. Three other men escaped injury. Inspector Joe Dobson called it an unforeseen accident. Survivors include his wife parents four brothers and three sisters.

B29 Crashes In Azores 16 Dead in Final Descent
A United States Air Force B 29 bomber crashed during a forced landing at Lagens Air Base in the Azores near Terceira island. Sixteen aboard, including eleven crewmen and five passengers, perished as the plane burned after skidding off Runway 16 and colliding with a parked service car. The aircraft from Barksdale Field was en route to Lakenheath England for rotational overseas training.

The Sedalia Division of Employment Security reports April shows the best employment picture since October 1949. Total jobs rose by 163 with gains in manufacturing 53 non manufacturing 134 and wholesale retail trade 8 while service institutions fell 32. New hires totaled 346 with non manufacturing leading at 51 percent. Unemployment claims dropped 22 percent from March and continued claims fell 29 percent. The outlook for summer is positive with construction and manufacturing expected to stay strong and unemployment likely to decline.

Auto kills woman in Everett crash into house
An out of control automobile on a steep hill in Everett crashed through the front wall of a two family dwelling and burst into flames. A pedestrian woman identified as Mrs. Alice Chipman, 50, died. The incident followed a hunting accident in which 19 year old Donald Ray Walker performed a caesarean on the mother rabbit and shot her before placing the kits with the cat.
