Two Suspects Arrested In Splitting Bills Case In Sedalia
A. M. Newberry and his son James were arrested by local police at city earn and later handed to a United States secret service agent. James was picked up near the Falstaff Hotel and taken to Boonville. A. M. Newberry was arrested at 801 East Thirteenth Street and found with sixty six dollars in folded bills. The case centers on passing altered ten dollar bills, a scheme that could yield eight dollars profit per transaction. Albert M. Newberry was arraigned before U.S. Commissioner E. H. Weinrich and jailed for a preliminary hearing. James remains in Cooper County jail as a suspect with charges not yet filed.
