Mrs Floyd Jackson Stevens is elected president of the Missouri P E oO in a local organizational ballot. The resignation of a former leader prompted the vote as members anticipate new initiatives and leadership.
Mrs. Floy Jackson Stevens of Sedalia elected President of the Missouri grand chapter P. E. O. over rivals Mrs. Addie B. Manzer of Kansas City and Mrs. Harriet Rynerson of Carthage. The convention, held at First Christian church, closed day with reports and installations. A Wednesday night musicale at the Masonic temple featured the Ladies' Musical club under Mrs. William D. Steele with roses and refreshments for delegates and guests.
A Missouri Democrat representative assessed crop damage in Pettis county after army worms and Hessian flies harmed corn and timothy pastures. Many fields must be replanted by June 25 with favorable rains, while statewide conditions cite drought relief and renewed optimism despite pests.

Five hundred members of the First Baptist church Sunday school plus Rev. R. L. Davidson Judge Louis Hoffman and teachers travel by special trains to Brown Springs five miles south of the city on the Warsaw branch of the Missouri Pacific. They share basket dinners and spend the afternoon boating fishing and playing ball while welcoming guests from other Sunday schools.
Laura J. Yeater head of the Latin department at the state normal announces resignation after fourteen years to pursue studies at Columbia University. Her work with the YWCA, including the Purora Players and the YWCA House dormitory, raised funds and aided students. The YWCA reported a remaining balance of 3761.18 as she departs.
Rimouski May 30 Captain Henry Kendall commander of the Empress of Ireland testified at the inquest into the disaster saying the Storstad struck him as fog hid her from view after he signaled. He blamed Storstad officers for not keeping forward speed to plug the hole and recounted lifeboat launches and his rescue. The jury adjourned for a week as probes into Storstad crew testimony continue.
About 3 o'clock Thursday morning burglars forced entry into the home of Dr. W. M. Carter at 802 West Seventh street. They caused minor damage and escaped before police arrived, with no injuries reported.

Frank Monroe and Kemp Hierony returned from Mertgens Springs where the Central Missouri Fox and Wolf Hunters Association held an annual fox hunt. Ladies attended, awards were distributed with Kale Monsees winning the junior loving cup on Kentucky Blue Fyes. About 500 people visited Thursday as sermons and solo numbers were offered by Rev. Dodd Thomas and his son. The camp breaks Friday night to reconvene in 1916.
