Man shoots self after home fire in Missouri
Frank Ingle, 33, son of a former Carthage merchant, fatally shot himself at his Dudenville area home after a fire destroyed the residence and left him seriously burned. The US gunboat Palos repelled an assault by Communist forces along the Siang river near Changsha. Five American sailors were wounded. about fifty Reds killed as Palos fired with three inch rifles and machine guns.
