William Green father of the Rev Richard Davis of this city died at his Garnett Kansas home Sunday morning December 11 1904 aged several years. Former Missouri resident for years in Kansas devout Methodist Episcopal church member for over 50 years. Survived by wife and three children Agnes Burton of Buxton Iowa Annie Shelly Fayette Missouri and the Rev Richard Davis Sedalia Missouri. Known as the Mire side preacher he delighted in Bible study and visiting neighbors. Interment in Garnett cemetery.

Private John I. Smith white, discharged from the army without honor. Stationed at St. Mott New Jersey he married a negro woman who nursed him back to health at Montauk Point during the Spanish American War.
