Address to Our Country 1908 from Philadelphia Black activists
A 1908 Philadelphia address asserts civil rights against Southern disenfranchisement and peonage, condemning taxation without representation, urging unity for African Americans, endorsing Senator Foraker, and demanding reinstatement of black soldiers. It calls for a strong Republican South, opposition to Lily-White moves, and an alliance of freedom and equality.
