Bloody Affray at Beaman Ends In Serious Injuries
A deadly early morning gunfight at the Craig farm near Beaman left Welcome Parsons fatally wounded and Walter Holman severely injured after a dispute over an alleged indecent proposal to a 13 year old girl Maggie Payne. Parsons wounded Holman with a revolver before Parsons was mortally wounded. both men were alive but perilously ill as doctors worked to save them.
