Leighton Matheny a 67 year old night watchman at Lamy Shirt factory collapsed and died near the Missouri Pacific telegraph supply house. Cause is heart failure per coroner. He lived at 500 West Pacific and had spent 27 years in Sedalia. Funeral from his residence.

Court disposes cases in grand larceny and dwelling larceny
The criminal court disposed of several cases on Saturday. William Mason and Henry Martin were each sentenced to two years in the penitentiary for grand larceny. Bob House received two years for larceny from a dwelling. The court adjourned until Monday morning.
