The president's daughter Alice was united with Congressman Nicholas Longworth at the White House at high noon Saturday in the presence of a distinguished company. Weather was balmy and the affair passed off smoothly with universal joy. many notable figures attended the event.
The wedding in Washington united Alice Roosevelt and Nicholas Longworth with a high profile procession. Attended by Cabinet members and diplomats, the service featured DeKoven’s Oh Promise Me and a later informal breakfast where guests mingled freely amid jokes from the President and cheerful congratulations.
Garnet council No. 765 Fraternal Aid plans a social evening next Friday February 25 at Glass hall with a musical and literary program. General Secretary T. J. Edwards from Lawrence, Kansas will attend and a delicious luncheon will be served.
Renowned young violinist Ben Clay carries a concert program at the M. E. church Tuesday evening. He performs with soprano Mrs. Harvey Mac Gugin bass Mr. Leslie Martin and pianist Mr. Isaac Farris featuring works by Grieg Wagner and Cazotte among others and a violin obligato by Mrs. MacGugin.

Herbert Hakan of the Queen City Loan Office believes a three and a half foot relic sword purchased at the old boss sale on Saturday is highly valuable due to its age. The blade bears markings M. Faire Re Jie Kliv yventhal-Owt 1812, and its owner expects it to be worth many times the purchase price.

The funeral of Mrs Nancy Elizabeth Jackson who died Friday morning at her daughter's home on East Fifth Street was conducted Saturday at 3 PM by Rev J M Tate of Warrensburg. The Missouri and Kansas telephone company will begin distributing a new metropolitan style directory next Monday. It mirrors big city directories and lists subscribers by number. rural calls will use tree names like ash cedar and spruce to designate lines.
