George Perkins vice president of New York Life Insurance and Morgan associate testified before the insurance legislative committee. He described sales of 800000 merino bonds to J. P. Morgan and the later repurchase at a loss amounting to 266 dollars in excess of the sale price. Perkins outlined syndicate operations and ground floor pricing aims.
M J Murray roadmaster and J E Snedeker trainmaster reached Boonville after an escape by handcar boat and buggy from Napton. They, with two section men, faced six feet of water on the track and swam to shore before using a boat to continue to Blackwater.
