Prominent ministers Rev Butler and Rev Albert offered divergent views on the Sedalia street fair. Butler praised elevating aspects and the floral parade while Albert condemned vice and urged moral focus, noting the fair's mix of beauty and temptations during the week.
Willie Boullt, three, son of Officer and Mrs William Boullt, was playing with matches on the porch when a garland of flowers caught fire. A colored man ran over by a car driven by Mrs Cramer and a separate incident involved a collision. doctors report a new treatment aids Burns in such cases. The boy's injuries are serious but not terminal and may leave facial scarring.
At Broadway and Engineer streets Saturday evening a two horse buggy collided with a survey team including H. L. Cramer his wife and child. Both Cramers were thrown out. Mrs. Cramer was cut and bruised while the child escaped uninjured. Dr. H B Cole treated Mrs. Cramer with injuries not serious.
Arrangements for changes on Main Street around October first include Waldman opening a clothing store in the Sedalia Implement room, Chasnoff moving to the Silver Moon restaurant, and Sedalia Implement taking the space vacated by Chasnoff.
The many friends of Frank B. Moore, a former Sedalian, will be pleased to learn that his ambitions in journalism are being realized. For the past three or four years he has been the city editor.
A test of American and British locomotive builders is planned on the Midland Railway in England. American engines will compare with British units after completion, to assess performance against three months of British operation before the test. Remains of a recent Missouri Pacific wreck smolder and souvenirs were found at the scene. A gas stove explosion in the Bar lunch room was contained by George Fisher who carried the stove outside and smothered it with a wet sack.
A five year old boy of R. H. Hunter residing at Seventeenth and Ohio was struck by a wagon driven by a colored man for Warren Craighead while following a balloon. The incident at Sixth and Ohio left the boy with multiple broken bones in his right foot and bruising.
A Sedalia reader learns by telegram that Mrs. George Gregory of Rossland British Columbia has lost her husband. The piece notes Sedalia friends’ sympathy and mentions a Candy Palace donation of five pounds of candy to the largest family at the fair won by H L Moore. It also discusses American locomotive builders versus British, citing H A Ivatt and Charles Rousmarten on durability and speed.
A brief railway note reports a Missouri Pacific hostler named Love among train yard workers. The fragment notes his role on site and hints at daily duties within the Pacific line's busy yard operations.

Possible candidates include A M Hough and F E Luckett from Cole, James E Hazel, R M Embree from Moniteau, C D Corum from Cooper, Dan W Wray and William Forman from Morgan. Also notes social visits of Miss Sue Bolen and Miss Tokie Brokmeyer.
