Drowned Boy Paul Sprague Dies in Quarry Pond Accident
Paul Hillis Sprague a 15-year-old Sedalia youth, fell into a rock quarry pond when the bank caved in while playing with a dog. Companion Arthur Schwartz tried to help but Sprague was pulled underwater and did not survive after about twenty minutes. Relatives and rescuers, including James Renfrow, Dr. H B Cole, and local neighbors, attempted resuscitation but failed. Funeral planned for Tuesday afternoon.
