A long running conflict over the Laclede and Fort Scott railroad bonds ends with a deal. Dallas County agrees to issue 248000 compromise bonds and deliver 85 percent of the old bonds to Charles Parsons for cancellation. Bondholders receive 100000 of new bonds as a railroad bonus and a depot must be built near Buffalo by May 1902.

A large group near Smithton Missouri hunted wolves at C C Jackson farm five miles south of town. Four squads led by Jackson Mensees Kahrs and Monsees scoured a four mile area. three wolves escaped. Hunters planned a grand round up with hounds as snow falls. The list of participants includes judges doctors and many local residents. E E Sellers was en route to Kansas City this morning.
