Cannon Gift From Philippines Reaches Sedalia Legend
Mr. T F Gray formerly a quartermaster sergeant of the Twentieth U S Infantry now of Sedalia received a brass cannon made in Spain from the Philippines. He plans to donate it to the city county or public library. The piece was used by Spaniards to suppress insurgents and was captured by the Filipinos after the Mt Maqueling battle last November. The capture and improvised Filipino carriage make it a curious keepsake. The Sentinel urges library officials to display it on the lawn.
