The Sedalia N G M Companies D and I receive orders to depart by 8 PM tomorrow over the M K T line with Band and Company F of Clinton joining at Fifth Street Station. The First Regiment and Battery A are in camp at Jefferson City while the Second Regiment is ordered to St Louis and others will follow as fast as possible.
Local supplier advertises cheap coal in grades including soft coal with references to Rich Hill Nat Lexington and Whipple. Also offers Scranton anthracite seasoned wood and various building materials. Yard and office contact details provided with phone number.
Whipple Coal Co and Amphitrite and Admiral Sampson will open sealed orders delivered yesterday. He protested against going to sea blindfolded again and urged action to cut loose his fleet. Headquarters directs to take coal and sail. Government may let small ships continue blockading while big ships head toward Porto Rico to intercept Spain’s squadron. The enemy squadron, aided by Portugal, is heading for Porto Rico and could be crippled by a long voyage and coal shortages.

A bloody street duel in Moberly last night left two men wounded over a quarrel involving a woman. Participants named Cliff Wade and another man exchanged shots amid the urban street scene. Further details and the condition of the combatants were not immediately clear.
A picked men military company formed at Joplin by Capt Frank Eberle aims to join the Fifth Missouri Infantry or mounted riflemen. The Globe Democrat notes Gen Moore's promise of a 5th Regiment spot if needed and Roosevelt’s notice that Eberle's unit will have first consideration for mounted riflemen. The company has 70 men now and will recruit to 100, with members from Southern and Southwest Missouri and Indian Territory, many as expert marksmen and riders.
The annual conference of the Synod of the German Evangelical churches Western district Missouri convenes at the German Evangelical church tonight at 8. Rev. Wm. Meyer gives the welcome, followed by remarks from Moderator Rev Umbeck of California. Rev. F. Klemme of Concordia will preach. credentials report tomorrow morning. about fifty delegates attend. visitor Rev. Zimmerman of Burlington, Iowa, general president of the German Evangelical churches in the United States.

The Kansas City court of appeals upheld the lower court in Fogg versus Sedalia school district. The city must repay $23,000 plus interest for bonds paid to Jimmie P. Thompson that were never canceled. The case involves 23 bonds and a dispute over unpaid interest.
Mrs Elizabeth Parcell of Marcus Hook Pa reports severe pleurisy pains eased quickly by Brazilian Balm which she warmed and rubbed on. She credits the remedy with permanent cure and notes it is sold at Servant's Pharmacy with a recommendation to read the Sentinel.
