Tom Colins was arraigned before Magistrate Trude in police court on a charge of petit larceny for stealing a shirt and a pair of trousers from O. H. Devine. He was fined $50 and granted a stay of execution after arraignment.
A deadly tornado last night in Phillipsburg Kansas left seven dead and a fifteen mile long, one mile wide path stripped bare. A fierce storm brought heavy rain, large hail, and vivid lightning. nine more people were seriously injured. Names of the deceased include Mrs. Robert Alexander and two daughters, Mrs. Jane Alexander, Elmer Lannian, and Daniel Weaver.
State Game Warden J H Rodes reports the arrest and conviction of M Lahsy at Moselle Franklin County for pearl fishing mussels out of season. The charge falls under section 32 of the state game laws requiring mussels to remain undisturbed until after July 1. The defendant pled guilty and paid a $50 fine.
Ex Prosecuting Attorney Stone filed suit for 30000 damages against the 1909 special grand jury that signed disbarment proceedings alleging he took a bribe to dismiss cases against Charles Glenn and Lee Trueblood. The cases were dismissed three times. The same grand jury had indicted Senators Farris Smith and Matthews.
President Roosevelt arrived at Oyster Bay today aboard the yacht Sylph sailing from Bridgeport Connecticut. He greeted local residents and planned a period of rest and informal engagements during the visit.

Gregg's Juvenile Band will give a free open air concert Friday evening at Forest Park between 8 and 10 o'clock. The band is a leading juvenile musical organization in the area and will perform several fine selections.
The message warns dog owners to pay a $2 tax on males and $5 on females or risk dog seizure and execution. Officers Robertson and Cue cover south of the railway while John Ellis handles the north side. A day will be set for dog execution for nonpayment.

A white mob abducted eight Black inmates from a Georgia jail tied them to a pole and riddled them with bullets in a racially motivated massacre. Local officials condemned the atrocity and pledged investigations. The victims included seven Black men and one white man, stirring national outrage.
In Watkinsville Georgia on June 29 a white man and seven black men were taken from jail by a mob and hanged from telegraph poles. Victims included Dan Aycock and seven named Black men linked to the murder of Frank Holbrook and his wife and an assault on Mrs Weldon Dooley. The mob seized jail keys and forced officers to guide them to the cells. The dead were shot and left at the scene. The mob dispersed after carrying out the killings.
Kansas City June 29 The east bound Santa Fe California limited collided with a Kansas City Southern stock train. Fireman Shorty Frazier and switchman Mike Devine were killed. engineer Wills was fatally scalded.
The Sedalia billiard parlors will open on Saturday evening instead of Friday as planned. The organizers could not have everything ready for Friday and postponed the opening to Saturday evening.
Judge William C. Ellison quashed the regular petit jury and called for a special venue of thirty men to try William Jackson presiding judge of the county court. Jackson and Judge Myron Staples face nineteen counts alleging oath violations and fraudulent county dealings. Main charge is awarding bridge contracts without bids.
Grace Mason aged 28 and Matthew Grayson aged 60 were murdered this afternoon on the Sac and Fox agency near Cushing Oklahoma. The husband of Grace Mason is being searched for as authorities investigate the brutal ax slayings.
Mrs Cornelius Stanley III is reported seriously ill at her home on East Fifth street with family at her bedside and local doctors monitoring her condition.
