Drowning of Charley Rathburn in Missouri River at Atchison
Charley Rathburn, 19, drowned in the Missouri river at Atchison Kansas after falling from a skiff while boat riding. He was with Miss Myrtle Allen and a man named Toppin near the bank when a strong eddy swept him overboard and submerged him. He was the son of C M Rathburn, superintendent for the Missouri Pacific north and west of Kansas City.
