A through Missouri Pacific freight train from Kansas City collided with a local train near Blackwater, killing Joseph Barth of Boonville and Robert Anderson of Blackwater. Engineer Dave Mercer of Sedalia was badly injured. fireman J W Shaw unhurt. The wreck occurred at 7 15 PM after the local crew reportedly failed to flag the through freight. Barth was an agent for Anheuser Busch in Boonville.
