Fire Destroys Curren Residence Five Miles From City
The Curren home five miles northeast of town burned to ash about 3 am. Chas Curren and his family escaped with difficulty as flames spread and the house collapsed later. Curren had $800 on the structure and $200 on household goods in insurance. Additionally Ed Woods, recently married in Kansas City, joined Western Grocery Co as city salesman there, and P J Carroll visited Sedalia on his routine trip.

In Cleveland on June 3 W H Stetcher bought the Muhlhauser Shoddy Manufacturing property for 137000 and paid with silver coin after creditors refused a personal check. He returned with legal tender in silver, delivering the money to the judge as two express wagons came to cart away the assets. The scene ended with a bag bursting and silver coins scattered.
